If your Conclave meets in June then it is highly likely it will be a nice sunny affair and that was most certainly the case when Forest of Pendle Conclave No 219 held its installation meeting at Padium on a hot and sunny evening.
Eight members of the Conclave, including Past Grand Supreme Ruler of The Province, RWyBro Howard Nuttall and his Deputy at the time, RWyBro Stephen Jackson, were joined by eight visiting brethren. In fact, it was Stephen who was to be installed into the chair in a superb ceremony by WyBro R Anderson, who has made the installation ceremony his own in Forest of Pendle.
The dynamic duo of Past Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler and his Deputy were re united at the start of the meeting as Stephen was the Counsellor, Howard stood in at the last minute and occupied the Guide’s chair.
Howard later went on to address the Brethren to conclude the Ceremony during which Stephen Holcroft, Provincial Director of Ceremonies , presented The Weapons perfectly to Stephen.
Following the meeting the brethren retired to the slightly cooler surroundings of the festive board room to find a mouth-watering buffet awaiting, prepared by the expert chef WyBro David Heginbotham.
The harmony continued through the meal with the usual toasting and a raffle featuring the famous travelling Asda whiskey. It raised another £53 for charities on top of what it has raised in the three other conclaves it has appeared at. David Heginbotham was the lucky winner and it looks like it will be appearing in a Craft lodge in the near future and continue raising money for our charities.
