Magician Ian

Magician Ian

Bury masonic hall was the venue for the OSM 2019 gala night and with the star act being the magician Ian Lavin from Robert Burns Conclave No 368 a good night was always going to be on the cards!

The guests arrived and greeted by the hosts, Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler Frank Hood Smith and his good lady, Elaine. They then enjoyed pre dinner drinks and some table magic performed by Ian.

Dinner was  served, fine food served perfectly and rounded off with cheese and biscuits and coffee. Following which Frank proposed a toast to The Queen before formally introducing Ian as the entertainment for the evening.

Ian performed a fascinating series of tricks with cards or making things disappear and then re appear. Plenty of audience participation too with a touch of mind reading. Ian had the audience gasping with amazement and received a warm round of applause at the end of this superb show.

The final part of the evening was the grand raffle with a table full of prizes on offer, that had been donated by those attending the gala. Elaine and Frank drew out the winning numbers and it was fair to say everyone won something. The raffle raised a fantastic £270 for good causes and charities. Frank finally thanked everyone for attending what was a most enjoyable social occasion.
