Champion Conclave No 26 is over 100 years old and recently inducted two candidates in a ‘double’ at their recent meeting. Bro’s Martin Davies and Craig Horrigan, Master Masons from Greenhill Lodge No 6260 were inducted in fine style by WyBro Paul Joynson, who was also their proposer.

The conclave was honoured with the presence of RWyBro Frank Hood Smith, Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler and his Deputy, WyBro Chris Givvons, who along with 15 other brethren saw a very special ceremony superbly directed by RWyBro Stephen Jackson. They gathered in the exquisite surroundings of Darwen masonic hall. In one of the lodge rooms, there is a wonderful stone tablet to commemorate the 100th birthday of the conclave in 1995.

IPSR Alan Frangleton opened the conclave and conducted the lodge business with charisma! He then offered the Chair to Paul who then worked the ceremony of induction assisted by the Brethren of the conclave and many ofthe visitors. WyBro Holcroft delivered the address to the candidates and Stephen Jackson presented the weapons with sincerity.

Champion is growing from strength to strength and there is more to come with candidates and joining members all keen to join this friendly and welcoming conclave with a long history. The festive board was enjoyed by all with friendship and harmony. Stephen Jackson conducted a number auction style raffle which raised an amazing £71 for the charities.

With a double Princess ceremony now firmly on the agenda  a visit to Champion Conclave is well recommended,  The next meeting takes place on Thursday 19th of April so why not visit them and have a Champion evening.
