Paul Joynson was installed as Supreme Ruler of Forest of Pendle Conclave No 219. The  meeting held at Padiham Masonic hall on a very wet and unseasonal June evening was well attended by members and visitors alike with the conclave ranks being bolstered by both Paul and Nigel Dunlop, SR of Champion Conclave as joining members. In fact membership forms were in full view on the evening as much effort was done to increase the numbers even further! The meeting started with Nigel presenting the traveling arrow on behalf of Champion Conclave.

The next business was for Stephen Jackson to install Paul as SR in a perfect ceremony and with sincerity. Paul is not new to the role and settled in very well. Paul is also a member of Supera Moras as well as a past SR of Champion Conclave he has worked hard to promote the order by encouraging not just joining members but has successfully brought many new candidates in to the order which Stephen acknowledged during his responses at the festive board.

Paul appointed his officers which included one of his joining members, Aiden Murphy as ADC. Along with the newer members, the conclave also boasts some distinguished and long serving brethren, including Roy Haffner who has recently celebrated 6o years in freemasonry and joined the Order of the Secret Monitor  back in 1977. . The brethren retired to a ‘David Heggingbottom all inclusive’ buffet which is indeed great value for £10. Dave works hard to put on the spread which includes a drink as well as a raffle ticket. Good harmony and great food was enjoyed in a most relaxed atmosphere.

So this conclave is a good blend of old and new and well worth a visit. Why not book in and attend the next meeting in December?
