The brethren of James Edward Glover No 409 recently admitted two candidates to the Princes or second degree of the order in one evening. Brothers Brian Campbell and Peter MacCarthy both took the degree together. 13 members of the conclave along with three visitors were present to see the ceremony which was performed by a last minute stand in Supreme Ruler Terry Bailey. It was good to see that all the officer positions were taken by conclave members so the visitors could have a ‘night off’
Howard Nuttall and Stephen Jackson, who are honorary members chipped in: Howard during ‘the challenge’ and Stephen with the lecture that was split with Richard Glover. The conclave was in fact named after Richards father, Dr James Edward Glover. In the Allied degrees there is a Council of the same name No 137.
Following the meeting the Brethren enjoyed each other’s company at the festive board with a nice roast beef dinner and some great banter rounding off a really good evening for Secret Monitors.
